Apple TV Rumoured Mid-2012 Release
As readers of Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography will know, Apple have been working on re-inventing the TV in their image for some time now. We haven’t seen anything materialise however, and Apple competitors and traditional TV manufacturers such as Samsung and LG seem to be in a rush to get there first- in partnership with Google TV.
Although there has been no announcement from Apple themselves, an industry analyst is reporting that production of Apple’s first television is due to begin at a Sharp factory (using Sharp display panels) in Japan in February next year.
In typical Apple style, the word is that they plan to revolutionise the way we interact with our TV’s, replacing cumbersome remote controls and clunky on-screen menus with Siri-style voice commands.
