Microsoft Issue Kinect Beta Test Invites

kinect-beta-invite According to gaming site Joystiq, Microsoft are to start the “Xbox Live and Kinect Beta Program” soon, having already sent invites out to a lucky few.

The invites were issued over the Microsoft Connect service which is used by the company to get customer feedback on new products.  The invitation promises recipients a “unique opportunity to see pre-release software”.

It also includes a note about an “audio change” during the beta that will prevent participants from using private or party chat with anyone outside of the beta program.  This may mean that the new Kinect version of the Xbox dashboard with it’s new chat program as seen at E3 may be part of the test program.
